What would ?20 have bought you a couple of years ago ( a cover for your iPod maybe)? If you're looking for a cheap portable player (half the price of Apple's slender shuffle) which you don?t mind losing, consider this really small, easy to use, attractive MP3 player. It does not have a screen or a huge storage capacity, but the 1 GB capacity is enough for up to 10 hours on its rechargeable battery. It's certainly a nice, economical alternative to the iPod shuffle. It may be incredibly tiny, but it has excellent sound quality and strong bass response with the supplied earphones. Buy some slightly more expensive in-ear headphones and its perfect! It?s available in a choice of six glossy colours and two memory sizes. You can navigate through your folders with the Skip feature and you can randomise play with its Shuffle playback.

Getting your songs onto it is uncomplicated and you don't really need any special software. Windows recognises it as a removable drive. You attach the USB lead and hook it up to your computer to charge it. Adding music and podcasts is achieved by dragging a file from your hard drive and dropping it into the Zen Stone Folder.

I would really recommend this player as a second inexpensive MP3.

Protection or Precaution?
Norton, McAfee, AVG, Bitfinder. All these companies promise to protect your PC from any virus or hacker that may want to harm your computer. But do any of them actually work? Or is it just fleecing you of yet more money for nothing!?
