The Xbox 360 is a beast. The machine itself is beautiful, and it's performance will blow you away.

It is the middle-man in terms of money, of the three consoles out at the moment, being more expensive that the Wii but far less than Sony's Playstation 3. The graphics on the 360 are stunning, and you'll require a HD Television if you want to reach its potential.

Loading time is also a key factor. Unlike with the older consoles, it takes no longer than 20 seconds to load a map or level dependant on the game. The wireless controllers are also a nice added feature, but they will chunk up the batteries fairly quickly and so aren't really brilliantly cost-effective. But no worry, you can get leads to turn them back into wired controllers, which satisfies most people really, when they play only 2 meters away from the console.

Microsoft are also making a real go of their Xbox Live features, allowing users across the world to play with one another. The ultimate downside to Live is that you will have to pay, however the fee is not too much and for the extra fun you have to ask your self is it worth it?

If you're a keen gamer and looking for a console to buy I would suggest this. The Wii is nice and very fun, but if you want the more mature of the machines, combine it with value for money and performance, you've got the 360.

With the long await of Playstation 3, and the Nintendo Wii, the Xbox 360 had a lot to live up to. But, after seeing the price of the Playstation 3 and finding out that the games are virtually the same for both formats you may opt to buy the Xbox 360. This, in my opinion would be a smart move; the graphics are immense even without a HDTV. It can be said that the console is lacking some seriously good games, although it is a similar situation with the Playstation 3. Looking forward however, we can see such titles as halo 3 and GTA:4 appear on the shelves. The Xbox is also fairly priced at just £279.99 for the "Hardcore" model - this includes a 20GB hard drive so memory cards are a thing of the past.

For a keen, online player a subscription to Xbox live can be bought. This will allow you to play online against any player in the world and chat to them simultaneously. This is a great feature as game updates can be downloaded so any game developer can make changes to the game even after the release date! it can be advised that if your are willing to buy this console then it may be worth saving up for a HDTV, though it is not necessary you will see that gameplay appears much more vibrant this is because game developers produce their games with HD in mind.

For any game enthusiast this is a must have, unless you are willing to pay for the Playstation 3 in which case you may want to try-out an Xbox 360. i believe they are both a great buy but the Xbox 360 wins it on value for money.

Norton, McAfee, AVG, Bitfinder. All these companies promise to protect your PC from any virus or hacker that may want to harm your computer. But do any of them actually work? Or is it just fleecing you of yet more money for nothing!?
