I bought the Sony Cyber-shot because I wanted a compact digital camera that would easily fit in a small purse or my pocket. This camera definitely fulfills that requirement. I bought an additional 2 GB for the camera when I bought it and have yet to fill it up, a big plus as there is nothing worse than having to go through your pictures figuring out what to delete when you want to take more pictures! The extra memory will set you back some but is definitely worth it. Some of the menus are a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it its not a problem. The quality of the pictures it takes is fabulous, great color and resolution. It does video pretty decently as well.

Only complaints about the camera is that it doesn't perform so well with high action shots or in very low lighting. So, if you want to photo football in the dark, find a different camera. I've heard some horror stories about dealing with Sony's customer service department, but I've never needed to contact them so it hasn't been an issue for me.
