The Reviews

First off, wow. This is a truly awe inspiring product. If every manufacturer were to build and design their products this well, then we would never have to call a customer support centre in Mumbai again.

First Impressions
This being the 'Special Edition' A5 Wide, Wacom have spiced things up a bit. The standard A5 has a grey surround and, you guessed it, grey work area. The 'Special Edition' on the other hand, has a glossy black surround, and wait for it, comes with 2 pens instead of 1! That?s right, Wacom ship this with the Airbrush Pen in the box with it. That saves you ?50 right there!

Installation
Installation was a completely painless task. Just plug it into a spare USB 2.0 port and stick in the Wacom supplied disk and away you go. The A5 comes with a customizing tool, which for once, is well programmed and easy to use.

Customizing
The Intuos A5 comes pre installed with an Adobe CS2/CS3 config. This is highly useful as the hotkeys on the Intuos A5 are set to useful functions in CS3, such as Brush size, page mover, move tool and many others. Another fantastic feature is the fact that simply by turning the Pen over it automatically switches to the eraser in Adobe Photoshop!

Ease of Use
As always with this sort of thing there is a steep learning curve involved. I thoroughly suggest sitting down with it and practicing making marks in PS for about 2-3 hours. Tracing over drawings / profile shots of vehicles are both excellent ways of practicing.

Conclusion
A thoroughly excellent product. By the looks of it they have taken a leaf out of Apple's design book and functionality guide. Although this is a product designed to be used by Professionals, the well endowed amateur is highly encouraged to purchase this product!!

Protection or Precaution?
Norton, McAfee, AVG, Bitfinder. All these companies promise to protect your PC from any virus or hacker that may want to harm your computer. But do any of them actually work? Or is it just fleecing you of yet more money for nothing!?
